Application and Document Deadlines

Kennesaw State University must receive your application and supporting documents for admission by our deadlines to guarantee timely processing of your application. During peak application periods, it may take longer than expected to receive a decision notification.

*Summer applicants, please note that documents received after April 15th may result in your financial aid not being available prior to the payment deadline for the session you are enrolled. Thus, you should plan for how you will pay for your classes until your financial aid is awarded. *

Application Checklists and Requirements

  • Please complete the entire online application.
  • The information you provide is critical in evaluating your potential as a student at KSU.
  • We use your email and physical mailing address to contact you.
  • Applications are valid only for the term submitted.
  • If an applicant is admissible but is required to take the Accuplacer, you must meet the minimum requirements on the exam. It is your responsibility to review the admission standards in advance to understand the likelihood of eligibility.

Choosing your Application Type
On page three, under Enrollment Information, you are asked to pick your Application Type. Use the definitions below to select your type.

  • Beginning Freshman: I have never attended another college and have graduated from high school within the last five years.
  • Transfer Freshman: I graduated from high school in the last five years, have attended another college, but have earned less than 30 semester hours or 50 quarter hours of transferable college credit.
  • Dual Enrollment Program: I want to attend KSU while I am still in high school and earn college credit.
  • Transfer: I have attended other colleges and am transferring 30 or more credit hours.
  • Adult NonTraditional: I have previously graduated from high school five or more years ago, earned a high school diploma or satisfactorily completed the GED.
  • Readmit Degree Seeking: I have not been enrolled at KSU for three or more consecutive semesters, last attended as a Transient, returning after academic dismissal or students who change their status. (degree seeking to non-degree seeking)
  • Transient: I am attending another college, but I want to be at KSU for one semester only.
  • Post-baccalaureate Non-Degree Seeking: I hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and wish to take courses for personal enrichment.

Application Fee & Waiver
The non-refundable application fee is $40 and is due immediately upon submission.  KSU accepts application fee waivers from College Board, NACAC and the ACT. If you have an acceptable fee waiver, you may upload an electronic copy at the KSU Application Code Request form.  Alternatively, you may also send it by mail or drop it off in person at the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (address provided below). You will need to include your full name, date of birth and your email address on your waiver. Once we receive your waiver, you will receive an email with a unique code that will allow you to submit your GAfutures online application to KSU.

Selecting a Major
Note that majors marked as BAS (Bachelor of Applied Science) require a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree from a Technical College System of Georgia institution.

Online Learners
Check the online learning website for information specific to in-state and out-of-state students.

Admission to the program requires higher test scores. Students not admitted to the Architecture program, but meet minimum admissions standards are encouraged to contact the Architecture Department or the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Lawful Presence Verification
In accordance with Board of Regents Policy 4.3.4, all applicants who are accepted for admission or readmission to Kennesaw State University and who seek to be classified as in-state for tuition purposes, will be required to provide validation of residency and lawful presence in both the State of Georgia and the United States. Acceptance to Kennesaw State University is conditional until lawful presence is verified.

Paying for College & Financial Aid
Applying for financial aid isn't as complex as you might imagine. For step-by-step resources, visit the Office of Financial Aid website. Start the process by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available October 1st for the following fall term. If you plan to apply for financial aid, please be sure to include your social security number. Please contact us at 470-KSU-INFO (470-578-4636) or with any questions.  You do not have to wait until you are admitted to file a FAFSA.

The Department of Public Safety and University Police on the Kennesaw campus is located at 351 Paulding Ave, Building 351 on the campus map near the West Parking Deck. On the Marietta campus the Department of Public Safety and University Police is located at 1100 South Marietta Pkwy, Building R2 on the campus map. Human Resources is located on the second floor of the Town Point building behind Spring Hill Suites.
