Welcome to Georgia Highlands College! GHC is a multi-campus, state college member of the University System of Georgia.Founded in 1970 as Floyd Junior College, it now serves thousands of students in Northwest Georgia across its four locations in Rome, Cartersville, Marietta, and Dallas. Application and Document Deadlines

Georgia Highlands College must receive your application and all supporting documents required for admission by the posted deadlines (highlands.edu/admissions/admissions-deadlines) in order to guarantee timely processing of your application. During peak application periods, it may take longer than expected to receive a decision notification.

  • Summer applicants, please note that documents received after March 1st may result in your financial aid not being available prior to the tuition/fee payment deadline for the session you are enrolled. Thus, you should plan to pay for your classes until your financial aid is awarded.


IMPORTANT Application Information


  • Complete the entire online application.
  • Applications are valid only for the term submitted.
  • Admissions applications are complete once all documents have been received.
  • Applications are evaluated in the order in which they are received. Please allow up to two weeks for an admission decision to be made.
  • We use your email and physical mailing address on your admissions application to communicate with you.
  • Students can register for classes only if they have been admitted to the institution.


Application Process


1. Click the blue Apply Now button below and pay the $30.00 non-refundable application fee.


2. Submit ALL official high school and/or college transcripts directly to GHC.

  •         You must request your official high school and/or college transcripts to be sent to GHC.


3. Submit ALL official test scores (ACT, SAT, or Next Generation Accuplacer) directly to GHC.

    • If you will be using an ACT or SAT application fee waiver, email your fee waiver form to admitme@highlands.edu to receive a fee waiver code to be used in the online application portal.
    • Official ACT or SAT scores must be sent directly to GHC in order to use the fee waiver.


   4.  Submit Verification of Lawful Presence to admitme@highlands.edu

   5.  Submit Certificate of Immunization to admitme@highlands.edu

   6.  Apply for Financial Aid
