Application Fee — Atlanta Campus

All applications for bachelor’s degree admission must be submitted with a $60 nonrefundable application fee, with an acceptable fee waiver, or with a legible copy of the applicant's passport or birth certificate (for those students qualifying for the GSU-62 program).

Application Fee — Perimeter Campus

All applications for an associate degree admission must be submitted with a $20 nonrefundable application fee, with an acceptable fee waiver, or with a legible copy of the applicant’s passport or birth certificate.

Application Requirements

In addition to submitting a completed application and application fee, applicants must submit the appropriate supporting documentation no later than 15 days following the submission of their application. Those applicants submitting an application by a priority deadline should submit all supporting documentation as soon as possible after submitting their application, but no later than the priority deadline. The following links outline the supporting documentation required by each application type. Please note that each file is unique and, upon our review of the application, additional documentation may be required. All documentation should be official and sent directly from the appropriate institution or testing agency. Faxes and unsealed copies of documentation are not considered official.

Application Policies and Procedures

  • Electronic application submission is preferred.
  • Application fees are nonrefundable.
  • All applications are reviewed in the order the file is completed. The file complete date is the date the last required item (transcript, test scores, complete application form, etc.) is received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
  • Applicants who submit an application and/or supporting documents around the application deadline may experience a delay in the review of their file and in other areas such as financial aid, housing, advisement, and New Student Orientation. Applicants interested in any of these services are strongly encouraged to apply and complete their files early. Since the list of documents needed to complete a file may be updated after the file is initially reviewed, Atlanta Campus applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor the status of their application using the online application status check on a regular basis and Perimeter College applicants are strongly encouraged to monitor the status of their application using the My Status tool.
  • Applicants should note that acceptance to the University by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions does not guarantee admission to a specific Georgia State pathway, program or college.
  • Any application received after the regular application deadline cannot be guaranteed consideration for the term of application. Applications will be considered for the next available term on a space available basis.
  • Any application completed with the submission of any required supporting documentation more than 15 days after the regular application deadline cannot be guaranteed consideration for the term of application and the file may be withdrawn. Applicants who do not attend the term for which they apply may update their application to another term by submitting a reactivation form for the following two semesters. After two subsequent terms of entry have passed, an applicant must submit a new application, application fee, and all supporting documents by the deadline for the desired term of application.
  • Students who have previously attended Georgia State’s Atlanta Campus or Perimeter College as an undergraduate degree-seeking student or transient student do not have to fill out this application. Instead, please fill out and submit the application for re-entry.

Deadlines

Freshman Deadlines
The Office of Undergraduate Admissions offers three deadlines for Fall application to the Atlanta Campus, including Early Action, Scholarship Consideration and Regular Decision.

Application submission deadlines for the Atlanta Campus are as follows:

Early Action Deadline (Fall) — November 15
Scholarship Deadline (Fall) — January 7
Regular Decision Deadline (Fall) — March 1
Spring Priority Deadline — October 1
Spring Regular Deadline — December 1
Summer Priority Deadline — February 1
Summer Regular Deadline — April 1

Application submission deadlines for the Perimeter Campus are as follows:

Fall Semester — August 1
Spring Semester — November 1
Summer Semester — April 1

First-time freshmen applying for fall semester entry will be considered for admission beginning in November and decisions will continue to be made throughout the academic year until enrollment goals have been met. It is recommended that students apply as early as possible to be considered for admission, university housing, scholarship funding, and need-based financial aid.

Early Action Deadline (Atlanta Campus)
Qualified freshmen applicants for whom Georgia State University’s Atlanta Campus is a top choice are encouraged to apply for admission on or before November 15th of their senior year to receive an admission decision no later than January 30. Primary consideration under the Early Action plan will be focused on demonstrated academic achievement, including core academic course grades through the junior year, rigor of curriculum, and performance on the SAT and/or ACT with writing assessment. The Early Action plan is non-binding and provides students an early decision with no obligation to enroll; this option is only open to freshmen who apply for the fall entry term to Georgia State – Atlanta Campus. An Early Action applicant must submit the required application, fee and transcripts along with official SAT/ACT scores sent online from the appropriate testing agency no later than November 15.

Early Action applicants will receive notification of their admission decision in January, and may be offered admission for fall, deferred to the Regular Decision process for further consideration, or denied admission to Georgia State University. Applicants who are offered admission under Georgia State's Early Action plan are not bound to accept the offer of admission and are given until May 1 to submit their confirmation intent to enroll and attend Georgia State. If an applicant wishes for November or December test scores or mid-year senior grades to be considered in the admissions decision, he or she would be better advised to apply under the Regular Decision plan and deadline.

Early Action Applicants deferred to the Regular Decision plan will be strongly encouraged to submit mid-year senior grades and improved SAT and/or ACT scores that show improvement. All deferred Early Action candidates with complete applications will be notified of a final admission decision no later than May 1.

Scholarship Consideration Deadline (Atlanta Campus)
If you wish to be considered for a Georgia State University Atlanta Campus scholarship based on competitive test scores and academic achievement, be sure to submit your completed application and required admission documents no later than January 7. Only students with completed admission files, including submission of all required admission documents and fee will be considered for possible scholarships. If you are considered for specific scholarships, you may be contacted by the Honors Program for additional information. Applicants who choose to apply under this plan will receive an admission decision no later than May 1.

Regular Decision Deadline (Atlanta Campus)
Freshmen applicants choosing this plan must submit their application no later than March 1 of their senior year and will receive a decision no later than May 1. Primary consideration under the Regular Decision plan will also be focused on demonstrated academic achievement (grades in core academic courses, rigor of curriculum, and performance on the SAT or ACT with writing assessment). Both Regular Decision and Deferred Early Action candidates will be notified of acceptance, waitlisted or denied admission to Georgia State University no later than May 1.
